I wonder how many of these have been Hyabusa swapped.

Also, what was the first year of production for these? Because I think they’re around 15 years old, yeah?

Nope, 2003. Three more years until I can import one to Canada.

Weirdly enough I saw like three of these when I was in Munich.

I really like these and I’m not really sure why. If they were offered with a manual I’d probably be actively looking to buy one.

Clearly it’s a TVR’d R8. Just squint.

guy at work has one, it’s quirky but you’d get a very decent, more practical, faster MX5 for less.

My friend had one of these. Fun car but the semi automatic gearbox will make the driving slightly awkward. And it wasn’t an option.

I’ve driven a Smart for Two with that box and it was fine!

The first time when I went for a drive with a Smart and the gearbox started the (really slow) shifting process I thought that it was going to break down. The shifting of course works but it is just so slow...

I drove a Smart for a week back in 2004 having heard only bad news about the box. I drove away from the pick up point at CDG airport in Paris and was surprised by how well it behaved. it didn’t change gear quickly but was at least as smooth as a driver with a manual box. Since then I’ve driven Citroen C3s and a Peugeot 107 with automated gearboxes and they were all fine. I’ve been driven in Volvo buses with them and they were fine too.

I have driven with several trucks with semi automatic gearboxes but not with any other cars than Smart. With heavy trucks you never know what gear is coming up as they skip plenty of low gears.

DSGs do shift really quickly but they have reliability issues but so do many other gearboxes.

Well given I’m in Canada, I have NEVER seen one of those out in public since they never sold them here.
